Tadam! 'Zingen over Water' in De Stompe Toren

Watched Tadam! premiered their new show The songs of Water in De Stompe Toren yesterday led by my friend conductor Juliska Yonne.

The photos were not so good but their music was! They sang in different languages including Gaelic! And they looked like they were having fun! Here's a sample with my very first video:

Waiting for the Dawn

Eurovision 2011 finals will be shown tonight at 21:00 CET time.
Fien is crazy for the group representing the Netherlands so headed for Dusseldorf, Germany to watch.

Too bad her group did not make it but here is a song I wrote which Jolanda put music to that I know that she likes.

Eurovision 2011 begun with 43 countries competing.

Yesterday Netherlands and Ireland performed on the semifinals 2 with Ireland qualifying for the finals tomorrow.

Here is a song I wrote with Jolanda putting the music which we fielded for Ireland in 2007. It made it to the 16th for Ireland that year.

Liberation day In Haarlem's Bolwerk

5th of May was the day that Holland was liberated from the Germans. The city of Haarlem celebrates with music, food and fanfare of all kinds....noise and laughter fills the city so I took myself off to the peace and quiet of the Bolwerk. I must be getting old but I love to be among the fresh green of Spring and the coots, the ducks and the geese.

A Friend

Beth, one of my online friends from the Philippines sent me this song. She loves to surf and experiment in the computer and found a software she can use to record her voice then convert it to an mp3 format. She also found a karaoke site where she could sing-along while she record her voice. She says that Filipinos love to sing... that ALL Filipinos can sing but some people do not have "good ears" to appreciate some voices.

Anyway, I am posting her song. It is a simple song but has a good thought on 'searching for friends.'

I am also posting the lyrics in case you might want to sing with her and check if you have "good ears" :)

De Ark van Noah

Yesterday I walked to Spaarndam with Jose and we passed De Ark van Noah on the Spaarne. It was built by just one man over a period of years and now it is taken to various places around Holland by water...you can see how big it is.

Been looking around the internet and I think that this is the first ark built by Johan Huibers which he sold to Aad Peters so he can build a bigger ark that will be the same size as the real Noah's ark which would travel not only the canals of the Netherlands but beyond.

I haven't been inside the ark to see the life size animal models but I did get to see black swans with their young in the water during the walk which I appreciated more...
