African Art

Tante Heidi has a sculpture in her garden that looks like African art...

 

It has to be African art since it reminded me of a sculpture I have in my balcony done by Tinei Mayshaba.

Visit to Amstelveen

José and I went to see Tante Heidi, her aunt in Amstelveen. She is a remarkable woman for her age....87 and she got the award The Order of Orange from the Queen for community work.

Stormy Day

It’s very stormy yesterday but Mary and I had already agreed for a walk. There’s news of  evacuation of a village in Groningen due to possibility of their dike collapsing but our sea should look quite impressive that we decided to push through with our walk.

We took bus to Bloemendaal aan Zee and the plan was to walk to Zandvoort and then take the train back to Haarlem. Winds were blowing in off the North sea with a force of 9 to 10 and the sea was churned up into foamy frothy thing. Had a coffee in Zandvoort and then I said... Lets walk back to Haarlem. Mary said Yep so off we went back to Haarlem through the dunes. Arrived back just as it was getting dark and later went out for a meal. Long walk, felt good and I slept well last night.
